Debra Rudquist, FACHE

President and Chief Executive Officer

Debra Rudquist joined Amery Hospital & Clinic in October 2014 as President and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to that time, she held many health care leadership positions at Allina Health and Fairview Health Services - most recently functioning as the system-wide Cardiovascular Vice President for Fairview. At Allina, she held a number of operational leadership and business development positions including executive director of ambulatory services. A registered nurse by background, she has an undergraduate degree from the College of St. Catherine and a master’s degree from the University of Minnesota. She is also a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.  


Jason Luhrs, MBA

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Luhrs joined Amery Hospital & Clinic in April 2015 as the Chief Financial Officer. His areas of responsibilities include: financial services, facilities management and patient access. Mr. Luhrs also serves as Westfields Hospital & Clinic Chief Financial Officer.








Patrick Sura, MD

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Sura is the Chief Medical Officer and is board certified  in emergency medicine and family medicine.  He joined the Amery Hospital & Clinic Medical staff in 2013.








Sandi Reed, RN, BSN, MS; Administrator of Clinical Services and Quality Improvement Sandi Reed, RN, BSN, MS

Vice President of Ambulatory Services

Ms. Reed began her career with Amery Hospital & Clinic in 1982 as a nurse on staff. She then worked in the intensive care unit and emergency department. From that point she moved forward in her career as a House Supervisor and then on to Quality Improvement. 

In 2002 Ms. Reed was promoted to the position of Administrator of Clinical Services and Quality Improvement. She oversees Amery Hospital & Clinic's four clinic locations, laboratory, diagnostic imaging and the Wound Healing Center, and works closely with the medical staff leadership team.




Jess Nuutinen, RN, MSN, MBA, HCM

Vice President of Patient Care and Chief Nursing Officer 

Ms. Nuutinen joined Amery Hospital & Clinic in February 2017 as the Vice President of Patient Care and Chief Nursing Officer. Her areas of responsibility include nursing, emergency department, surgical services, pharmacy, social services, nutrition services, behavioral health and emergency preparedness. She is also the management liaison for the Amery Area EMS Ambulance Service.

Prior to this appointment, Ms. Nuutinen worked for Mayo Clinic Health System as a nurse administrator overseeing multiple service lines for the North West Wisconsin Region. Ms. Nuutinen received her master's degree in Nursing and master's degree in Business from the University of Phoenix.



Ann Schilling, MBA

Senior Director of Human Resources

Ms. Schilling joined Amery Hospital & Clinic in April, 2017 as the Senior Director for Human Resources. Ann has 30 years of comprehensive human resources experience in a variety of industries including academia, defense, financial services and healthcare. She was most recently employed at United Healthcare for the past 15 years. Ann received her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and her Master of Business Administration from the University of Minnesota.





Joanne Jackson, MOL, SPH R; Administrator of Human Resources/Community Relations/Quality Improvement Joanne Jackson, MOL, SPH R

Executive Director of Foundation/Community Health

Ms. Jackson began her career with Amery Hospital & Clinic in April of 2004. She currently holds the position of Executive Director of Amery Hospital & Clinic Foundation and Community Health. Joanne's major responsibilities include foundation initiatives and community health.






Margie Peterson, MD; Physician Leader/Family Medicine

Margie Peterson, MD

Physician Leader/Family Medicine

Dr. Peterson is a board certified family medicine physician who joined the Amery Hospital & Clinic medical staff in 1992. She is the Clinic Primary Care Medical Director and continues to practice primary care including obstetrics. Dr. Peterson received her medical degree from the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Peterson is married to Dr. Barry Tulkki who also practices at Amery Hospital & Clinic. They reside in Amery and are both active in the community. She has been an active preceptor of students throughout her career.
