Something BIG is coming to a town near you
Something extraordinary is about to happen on April 28. Three communities will come together through giveBIG St. Croix Valley,
a 24 hour online fundraising extravaganza, to support area nonprofits.
We are excited to announce that giveBIG Osceola has been renamed giveBIG St. Croix Valley to include nonprofit organizations serving Amery, Osceola and St. Croix Falls in 2015. giveBIG Osceola, an online giving day, raised more than $90,000 for area nonprofit is 2013 and more than $154,000 in 2014.
“The expansion of this event is in response to feedback from area nonprofits, donors and the community need.” according to Sue Gerlach, director, Osceola Community Health Foundation. “We are excited to include St. Croix Falls and Amery in this year’s event. Nonprofits serving our communities touch nearly all areas of our lives from maintaining trails and conserving the St. Croix River, to hosting local theater events and providing food, clothing, shelter and health care to those in need,” Gerlach said.
“Our goal on April 28 is to get everyone that lives, works or visits the upper St. Croix Valley area to log on to giveSCV.org and donate to the many organizations that enrich our everyday lives,” she said. “With increased demand for services, our area is in need of support through a broad community appeal.”
To keep pace with donors, more and more nonprofits are turning to an online donation format. giveBIG Osceola’s online partner, Razoo, has helped raise more than $190 million for thousands of causes through a secure and easy-to-use platform. This platform provides an individual page for each nonprofit as well as the ability to receive online donations.
Organizers expect that donors will connect with new causes and programs on April 28 and people who have never given before will do so. giveSCV.org includes detailed information about each of the more than 50 participating nonprofits – searchable by category – and allows donors to manage their giving by recording online contributions and storing receipts.
“We’re encouraging everyone to just give what they can, even people outside of the St. Croix Valley area who love and take part in our outdoor and cultural activities. Any size donation helps,” said Karen Krupa, director of Interfaith Caregivers of Polk County, a participating nonprofit.
Donations can be made online from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28 or scheduled in advance at givescv.org
