Dr. Craig Johnson awarded HealthPartners Clinical Excellence in Primary Care

(AMERY – November 11, 2013) Dr. Craig Johnson from Amery Regional Medical Center (ARMC) received the 2013 HealthPartners Clinical Excellence in Primary Care award last week at a special ceremony held in the Twin Cities. This prestigious award not only recognizes Dr. Johnson’s clinical excellence, but also his contributions toward mentoring staff.

ARMC Behavioral Health Center nursing staff and medical students continually express gratitude for Dr. Johnson’s willingness to teach and mentor them while providing engaging cases that contribute to their learning. Dr. Noel Jarvis, Psychiatrist and Medical Director for the unit added, “Dr. Johnson actively supported the recruitment of our second psychiatrist and is an integral part of our care team. He understands the business as well as the care aspects of our program and is a committed participant in developing improved care systems. Dr. Johnson helps with morale through calm, positive contributions.”

As the Director of Medical Services for the acute geriatric inpatient psychiatric unit, Dr. Johnson rises to the challenge every day in this role. He completes preadmission screenings, medical evaluations, and provides ongoing medical care for adults 45 and older in crisis situations.
