Expectant Parent Classes
The ARMC Birth Day Suites Staff is prepared to educate expectant parents on labor, delivery, c-sections, danger signs and complications, as well as post-partum care for both mother and baby.
Expectant Parent Classes includes:
~ Week I: Registration, review of materials, begin discussion on breathing and relaxation
~ Week II: Labor & Delivery
~ Week III: Interventions & Operative Birth
~ Week IV: Medical Center Tour & Post-partum Care
~ Week V: Infant Safety & Care

* FEE: $50 (includes 2 individuals and due at time of class)
Classes are held Tuesday evenings from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at Amery regional Medical Center. All classes are led by registered nurses with experience in OB, along with guest speakers. Relaxation and breathing techniques are included in each class. Call 715-268-0600 or 715-268-8000 to register or please just stop in.
Benefits of Breast Feeding
You have decided to breast feed your baby because you believe that it is best for your baby. What you may not know is that it is also good for you. The Amery Regional Medical Center Birth Day Suites Staff is prepared to support your decision to breast feed with the most current, up-to-date information regarding the benefits of breast-feeding. If you are interested in a breastfeeding consult, please contact Brenda Johnson, CNM, who is a Certified Lactation Consultant.
Breast feeding classes are available at Amery Regional Medical Center from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Call 715-268-0600 or 715-268-8000 to register or please just stop in.

Upon request, the Birth Day Suites Staff will provide the nursing mother with information on “Nutrition for the Nursing Mother,” as well as a “Breast Feeding” guide book with topics such as breast feeding positions, nipple care, benefits to both mother and baby, weight loss while breast feeding, planning a healthy diet and when not to breast feed.
Planning for your baby’s care is important. And, equally important is planning for mother’s care throughout pregnancy, during labor and delivery, plus taking care of mom once the baby is home. At Amery Regional Medical Center, the Birth Day Suites Staff will guide you to information that will answers your questions regarding how to choose a healthcare provider for your baby, making a decision on infant feeding, circumcision, abdominal incision care (if you’ve had a cesarean), safety preparations for baby in the car and at home, etc.

Amery Regional Medical Center and the Birth Day Suites Staff wishes to congratulate you on the birth of your baby. And, to do so, we’d like you to relax and allow us to pamper you and your significant other with a specially prepared meal.
- Shrimp Scampi (broiled shrimp topped with butter, garlic & parmesan)
- Top Sirloin Steak (cooked medium rare, medium or medium well)
- Baked Potato (with sour cream & butter)
- Steamed Vegetables
- Tossed Garden Salad
- Dinner Roll
- Coffee (regular/decaffeinated)
- Milk (2% or skim)
- Hot Tea (regular/decaffeinated)

Common visiting hours for family, friends and relatives at the Amery Regional Medical Center Birth Day Suites are from 11:30 AM to 2 PM and 4 PM to 8:30 PM. We encourage all visitors to check in with our staff at the Birth Day Suites front desk.
Words of caution to all visitors…Please always wash your hands before handling baby.
