*This is a shared position between Athletic Trainer duties and Fitness Center responsibilities.
The licensed athletic trainer (LAT) will demonstrate the ability to participate in prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries within their scope of practice as set forth by the State of Wisconsin Medical Practice Act, Chapter 448, Subchapter VI. The athletic trainer will provide after school coverage and event coverage for area high schools. The athletic trainer also assists in implementing injury prevention and athletic enhancement programs. Other duties may include but are not limited to assisting physicians and/or physical therapists in the clinic within their scope of practice.
At the Fitness Center, the individual will collaborate with the Director of Rehabilitation Services to develop and improve program and class offerings.
Education: Bachelor’s degree from a CAATE accredited Athletic Training Education Program
Current Wisconsin license or ability to obtain Wisconsin license
Experience: 1-2 years experience preferred. Entry-level graduates with NATA Certification will be considered
Prefer Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or the ability to obtain CSCS within 6 months of hire
Keeps abreast of changes in practice and functions
Membership in professional organization strongly encouraged
Continually strives for quality and improvement in performance

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to varying audiences
Willingness to learn and adapt to a changing environment
Ability to work independently
Excellent computer knowledge
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS
Able to spend various amounts of time standing, sitting, walking, bending, reaching, twisting
Able to lift 50 pounds frequently
Able to work indoors and outdoors for various amounts of time
