| | | Michael Karuschak, Jr. FACHE
Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Karuschak was appointed Administrator in 1987 and later to Chief Executive Officer. Through this position he has the necessary authority and is responsible for the administration of the Medical Center in all activities and departments. Prior to that date, he served for four years as Assistant Administrator for Clinical Services at Northwest General Hospital in Milwaukee, WI and served as Assistant Administrator for Employee Relations in the same institution for nine and one-half years.
Mr. Karuschak received a Bachelors of Science Degree in 1971 from the University of Illinois – Chicago and his Masters in Health Care Administration in 1982 from Central Michigan University. He is Board certified in Healthcare Administration and a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.

| | | Craig Johnson, M.D. – Family Practice
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Johnson began his practice in 1984, is the President and Chief of Staff of the Medical Staff, and became Chief Medical Officer of the Amery Regional Medical Center in 1998.
He graduated magna cum laude from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota and completed his medical degree at the University of Minnesota. He did his family practice internship and residency at Sacred Heart Hospital and Luther Hospital.

| | | Joyce Schaefer, RN, BSN, MS
Administrator of Patient Care Services
Ms. Schaefer began her management career with Amery Regional Medical Center in 1988 and currently serves the organization as Administrator of Patient Care Services and as the Compliance Officer. Her areas of responsibility include; Nursing, Diagnostic Imaging, Laboratory, Pharmacy, Social Services, Nutrition Services, Rehab Services and Compliance. She is also the management liaison for the Amery Area EMS Ambulance Service.
Ms. Schaefer received her nursing diploma from the Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in Cincinnati, Ohio, and received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Lewis University in 1984. She received a Masters Degree in Health Services Administration through the College of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois in 1990. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Wisconsin Organization of Nurse Executives.

| | | Scott Edin, MHA
Administrator of Financial and General Services
Mr. Edin began his career with Amery Regional Medical Center in 1981 and was appointed controller of the Hospital in 1985. In 1998, he was promoted to the position of Administrator for Financial and General Services.
He received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Administration from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota in 1980, and has received his Masters Degree in Health Care Administration through the University of Minnesota in 1990.

| | | Joanne Jackson, BA, MS
Administrator of Human Resources and Community Relations
Ms. Jackson recently began her career with Amery Regional Medical Center in April of 2004.
She currently holds the position of Administrator of Human Resources/Community Relations. Joanne's major responsibilities include employee recruitment, payroll, wage and benefit administration, customer service, courtesy van, auxiliary and volunteers.
Sandi Reed, RN, BSN, MS CDE
Administrator of Clinical Services and Quality Improvement
Ms. Reed began her career with Amery Regional Medical Center in 1982 as a nurse on staff. She then worked in the CCU/ICU, and ER departments. From that point she moved forward in her career as a House Supervisor and then on to Quality Improvement.
In 2002 Ms. Reed was promoted to the position of Administrator of Clinical Services and Quality Improvement. She supervises ARMC's three clinic locations, registration/scheduling/switchboard, works with the Medical Staff Leadership team, and provides Diabetes Education to our communities. | | |

Members of the Leadership Team are Steve Lewandowski; Dr. Craig Johnson, President; Dr. B. Rolf Bjornson, Vice President; Dr. Ann Ryan; Dr. Dylan Coe, Secretary, and Sandi Reed.
These physicians were elected by their peers for their leadership abilities, high standards of patient care and loyalty to Amery Regional Medical Center and our community. They bring over 60 years of combined medical knowledge in their collective leadership capacity in Amery.
