Exercise brings many benefits. The physical and mental conditions that a regular strengthening workout improves, especially as you grow older, includes arthritis, osteoporosis, back pain, quality of sleep and depression. Active people tend to feel better and look better. Over a long period, regular physical activity can help prevent diseases like cancer, heart disease and diabetes. LOCATION ADDRESS
The Fitness Center is a division of Amery Regional Medical Center and is located downtown Amery at 220 North Keller Avenue. All Rehabilitation Services (Aquatic Therapy, Massage Therapy, Industrial Medicine, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Sports Medicine) except Cardiac Rehab, are also located at The Fitness Center.

CHILD CARE SERVICES AVAILABLE
The Fitness Center offers Child Care Services for children 3 months up to 7 years of age. Child Care Service is available each morning (Monday - Friday) from 8:30 am to 11:00 am. We offer a monthly cost of only $30/month for unlimited child care services, which means as many kids and as many days per week as the member wants to work out. Punch cards are also available for purchase.
FITNESS CLASSES
Enjoy the benefits of becoming a member. Most fitness classes are included with your membership, so please check with The Fitness Center staff to find out which classes you can attend for free.
MASSAGE THERAPY
Treat yourself or someone you love to a massage. A massage is wonderful relaxation therapy for stress reduction, relief of spasms, stiffness, and muscle soreness. A therapeutic massage is great anytime, not just for those “special” occasions. Nationally Certified Massage Therapists, like Nicole Marlett, provide quality, professional service. National Certification assures you that the Massage Therapist is credentialed and upholds the national Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. Nicole, a licensed Massage Therapist through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, offers a variety of therapeutic massages, such as: Acupressure, Aromatherapy, Deep Tissue, Healing Touch, Hot Stone, Pregnancy, Reflexology, Swedish, Sports, Trigger Point Therapy, and Watsu. MEDICA MEMBER DISCOUNT ~ $20 a month toward your membership
Medica members in the Amery area now have a new opportunity to improve their health and save money. Effective June 1, 2006, The Fitness Center joined Medica’s Fit Choices by Medica network. The program is designed to help members improve their health and save membership and health care dollars. Fit Choices by Medica members get a $20 monthly membership credit just for exercising at a participating health club eight or more days per month. Simply inform the Registration Desk that you are a "Medica Member" and they can help you start your savings.
MEMBERSHIP ~ NO ENROLLMENT FEES
Purchasing a membership entitles the member access to the exercise equipment in The Fitness Center during business hours, use of the pool (by appointment only), orientation to the available equipment by a fitness assistant, classes for fitness beginners by the fitness assistants on the basics of exercise and fitness training, discounted prices for personal training, fitness evaluations and fitness classes (limited times and space).

PERSONAL TRAINING SERVICES
Personal training packages include a fitness evaluation by a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or a Certified Personal Trainer CPT) and the development of an individualized fitness plan. Training sessions are 45 minutes to one hour. The trainer to trainee ratio is dependent upon the package purchased. You may purchase personal training services as a member at a discounted rate and also have access to the pool. You may also purchase the personal training package as a non-member and have unlimited access to the fitness equipment (except the pool) for a three month period.
As a non-member, you must use your 12 sessions before the end of three months. Trainer certification is through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. For more information regarding the individuals providing personal training services, see a fitness assistant.
Members with greater fitness awareness may be interested in purchasing a fitness evaluation only. This evaluation is performed by a CSCS or CPT with the intended purpose to identify opportunities for improvement to their current training regimen. Fitness staff will assist in preparing a plan to address any individual training needs. The plan is then carried out independently by the member. The Fitness Evaluation usually lasts about 1 hour, with possibilities for Follow-up Evaluations (approx. 45 minutes) done periodically to adjust the fitness plan as needed.

PUNCH CARDS ~ DAILY VISITS
A Punch Card is used anytime you want to use the Fitness Center. You can use it for fitness classes or to just workout. There is no contract; you just simply walk-in and purchase a punch card - 10 visits for $30 - that's only $3 per visit! You can use your Punch Card anytime during Fitness Center hours.
