Medical Center Foundation holds annual membership meeting and reviews 2005 achievements
AMERY, WI - On May 2, 2006 the Amery Regional Medical Center Foundation held its’ annual membership meeting to elect members for the Foundation Board of Directors and to review the 2005 Annual Community Report for the Amery Regional Medical Center.
ARMC Foundation board members reelected included Mike Jensen, Joanie Byrnes and Dr. Ken GaleWyrick. They will continue to serve on the Foundation Board along with Dan Lien, Jim Leadholm, Kate Isakson, Heidi Erspamer, Ranae Nygaard and Dr. Margie Peterson. These individuals also serve on the board of directors for the Amery Regional Medical Center.
ARMC Board Chairman Dan Lien, Chief Executive Officer Mike Karuschak and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Craig Johnson recapped Amery Regional Medical Center’s achievements during 2005. Major accomplishments were as follows:
· The Medical Center finished the 2005 fiscal year with revenues exceeding expenses by almost $1.6 million marking the fourth consecutive year of million dollar plus profitability.
· The Medical Center opened the Riverbend Assisted Living Facility in partnership with Real Properties Health Corporation in September 2005.
· The Medical Center opened a new Physical Rehab out-patient department and “the Fitness Center” in downtown Amery in November 2005.
· Announced plans to build a new replacement medical center with construction occurring during 2006 & 2007.
· Recruited Dr. James Quenan to join Dr. Frank Whitesell providing the medical center with two full time general surgeons.
· Recruited primary care physician Dr. Lance Wegeant.
· Added Dr. John White and Dr. Danielle Busse-Quenan from Turtle Lake Medical Associates to the active medical staff at ARMC.
· Expanded physician specialty services in orthopedic surgery, spine surgery, neurology and oncology.
· Experienced increases in patient admissions, E.R. visits and surgical volumes including a 45% increase in orthopedic surgeries.
· Achieve all eight Quality of Care performance measures
· The Medical Center also received the QHR Award for being the top-rated hospital in Region 3 of the management company for the second year in a row.
Board Chair Dan Lien concluded his remarks by saying, “The Medical Center experienced another successful and exciting year and we are looking forward to 2006. The construction of the new Amery Regional Medical Center facility further demonstrates the commitment of ARMC to provide for the health and wellness of the communities we serve.” |
