Boarding our Horizons
On Thursday, Dec 20th, 2001, Physician Assistant Jonn Dinnies announced his decision to enter into an agreement for Amery Regional Medical Center to purchase the Luck Medical Clinic located in Luck, Wisconsin. The Luck Medical Clinic has been providing medical services in the community since 1990 when it opened with from the Village of Luck.

Mr. Dinnies and Amery Regional Medical Center have has a very close working relationship during the past six years. As part of this relationship, Dr. B. Rolf Bjornson has provided medical services at the Luck Medical Clinic and has functioned as Medical Director for the clinic. In addition, during the past two years, DR. Heidi Huser and Certified Nurse Midwife Brenda Johnson have also provided medical services to patients at the Luck Clinic. All of these individuals work at the Amery Regional Medical Center and are members of the HealthPartners Medical Group.

Under the terms of the asset purchase agreement, Jonn Dinnies, P.A.-C will become a member of the HealthPartners Medical Group in Amery, Wisconsin. All other individuals working at LMC will become employees of Amery Regional Medical Center.

As part of his announcement, Jonn stated, "I have worked very closely with the Medical Center in Amery and have a great relationship will all of the healthcare providers there. This is a natural extension of my relationship with ARMC and I believe will help insure that there are medical facilities available in Luck and surrounding communities for years to come. I will continue to provide healthcare services along with Dr. Bjornson, Dr. Huser and Nurse Midwife Brenda Johnson. Quality healthcare has been, and will remain our focus to each individual patient."

Amery Regional Medical Center's Chief Executive Officer Mike Karuschak commented, "Jonn has a great reputation in the Luck area and has done an outstanding job of meeting the healthcare needs of the community." Northern Polk County is a very important part of the service area for ARMC, and as a result of this agreement, ARMC will strive to further enhance the services provided in Luck," continued Karuschak. "In today's healthcare environment it is very difficult to maintain a solo medical practice as Jonn had done so impressively in Luck."

The effective date of the transaction will be January, 1, 2002. The HealthPartners Medical Group in Amery currently has an active medical staff of 20 healthcare providers including twelve family practice physicians, one general surgeon, a pediatric nurse practitioner, a certified nurse mid-wife, an oncology nurse practitioner, two emergency room physicians, a chiropractor, and a physician assistant. With the addition of the Luck Medical Clinic, Amery Regional Medical Center will operate three primary care clinics including the clinics in Amery and Clear Lake, Wisconsin.
