Medical Director named at Wound Healing Center

Amery, Wisc. – The Wound Healing Center (WHC) of Amery Hospital & Clinic which offers state-of-the-art treatment practices and protocols to reintroduce the body's innate ability to heal, has appointed Michael J. Melby, M.D., as medical director.
Dr. Melby takes over for Dr. Anders Ulland, who after ten years as WHC’s medical director, is transitioning to the Medical Director-Surgical Division. Dr. Ulland has been instrumental in helping ensure the delivery of quality wound care and offering state-of-the-art treatment practices and protocols.
As the medical director, Dr. Melby will be responsible for reviewing patient care and results, evaluating new clinical products and providing oversight and guidance on policies and procedures.
Dr. Melby also serves as a wound healing specialist and general surgeon at Amery Hospital & Clinic. He holds a medical degree in general surgery from University of Minnesota School of Medicine. Dr. Melby is certified with the American Board of Surgery.
